SECONDHANDERS
Group Secondhanders was formed in 2008. The original line-up consisted of Nebojša Ignjatović, Julijana Marković, Aleksandra Stanić and Gorana Ćurgus. Music concept that gathered the band was the idea to create some kind of “workshop for recycling music”. This was preceded by years long engagement of prof. Ignjatović in creation of theatre music for many plays of Dah Theatre, 7 Stages (Atlanta), MGL theatre (Mestno Gledališče) from Ljubljana, Theatre Bojan Stupica, as well as composing music for cartoons and animation movies. In the later phases of work on theatre music, prof. Ignjatović was joined by Aleksandra Stanić (viola and vocal) . Since 2008 Juliana Marković (violoncello, vocal, arrangements) and Gorana Ćurgus (harp) joied the band. During the creation of music for DAH Theatre play “At Nastasijević” in 2009, Sanja Marinković (saxophone, vocal, percussions and art of sampling) was engaged, as well as the regular member of DAH Theatre, Jugoslav Hadžić (accordion). After the work on this play Jugoslav Hadžić became member of “Secondhanders” and Sanja Marković was its mebmer till 2011.
NEBOJŠA IGNJATOVIĆ
Doublebass, vocal, piano, mbira, flute, composer and many more!
Born in 1951 in Belgrade. He is the regular professor of doublebass at the Faculty of Music Art in Belgrade. Since 1993 he is the member of “Rubber Soul” project – postmodernist multimedial group. In 1994 he composed music for “Crazy Women from Helm”, played in the theatre Mladinsko Gledališče in Ljubljana. Since 1999 he composes for Dah Theatre from Belgrade and cooperates with them. He composed music for theatre plays “Documents of Time”, “Cirque Macabre” and tours USA, Australia, Germany and Norway with them. In 2005 he composed music for the theatre play “Alice and Kafka are Dead – Long Live Rozenberg” in coproduction of Dah Theatre and Seven Stages theatre from Atlanta, USA. In 2006 he composed music for the theatre play “The Story of Tea”, staged in New Orleans. In 2008 he composed music for the cartoon movie “Fantazmagorija 2008” by Rastko Ćirić. From 2005-2007 he was pro-rector of University of Arts in Belgrade. Nebojša Ignjatović is the idea creator and the leader of the Secondhanders.
ALEKSANDRA STANIĆ
Viola, vocal
She gained primary and secondary education in the music school “Mokranjac” in Belgrade, in classes of professors V. Savković and M.Branković. She graduated from the class of professor Dejan Mlađenović at Faculty of Music Art in Belgrade. As a member of “Dušan Skovran” orchestra from 1995 to 2004 she performed in many festivals and concert halls in Serbia and abroad. She attended courses of chamber music. She is the regular member of Intermezzo quartet, associate of ensemble Rennaisance, where she plays baroque viola and member of the Secondhanders. She is the regular musician-associate of Dah Theatre. She is the employee of Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra.
JULIJANA MARKOVIĆ
Violoncello, vocal
She gained primary and secondary education in the music school “Josip Slavenski” in Belgrade, in the class of prof. Ivan Poparić. She graduated from Faculty of Music Art in Belgrade in the class of prof. Sandra Belić. She attended master classes with Michael Flexman and Aleksander Fedorchenko, and she won many prizes at state competitions, as well as in festivals as a soloist and member of chamber orchestras. She is an employee of Belgrade Philharmony Orchestra since 1994, and member of many chamber music groups (trio “Acernus”, string quartet “Intermezzo”, the “Secondhanders” band…). She performed in Serbia and abroad.
GORANA ĆURGUS
Harp
She gained primary and secondary education in the music school “Mokranjac” in the class of prof. Ljiljana Nestorovska. She graduated from the Faculty of Music Art in Belgrade in the class of prof. Milica Barić. She won many prizes in state and international competitions. She attended master classes with Jana Bouskova and Elizabeth Fontan-Binoche. Since 2000 she works as a solo harpist of Orchestra of Opera and Ballet of National Theatre of Belgrade. She is the regular associate of Belgrade Philharmony Orchestra, Simphony Orchestra of Radio Television of Serbia, Simphony Orchestra of Vojvodina, etc. She performed as a member of chamber music ensembles (Ensemble for New Music, New Moment Ensemble) in Serbia and abroad. She is the regular member of trio “Acernus” and the group Secondhanders.
JUGOSLAV HADŽIĆ
Accordion
As a musician and actor he is the member of Dah Theatre since 2002, and he participated various festivals in Serbia and abroad with it. He acts in theatre plays “Cirque Macabre”, “Invisible City”, “The Story of Tea”, “Search for the City”, “An Alternative Guide Through History of Belgrade”… He plays bass guitar in the rock band Sajsi and he is the member of the Secondhanders.
